A FAMILY is celebrating the arrival of a new baby which makes them a five-generation clan.

Jodie Power, aged 17, has given birth to Caitlin Whittle-Darrock, the latest addition to the Bolton family in which girl power rules. Caitlin's mother, who lives on the Victory Estate with her partner Alex Whittle-Darrock, has three sisters and her aunt, Mandy Heron, has three daughters.

Jodie's mother, Alison Power, aged 39, and Mrs Heron had so many daughters between them that they set up a dance troupe called the Saturdays Club which has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.

Mrs Power's mother is 62-year-old Carole Heron and the matriach of the family is 81-year-old Edith Lonsdale.

Caitlin was born at the Royal Bolton Hospital weighing 8lbs 1oz and grandmother Mrs Power is hoping she will become the latest addition to the Saturdays Club.

Mrs Power said: "I was shocked when yet another girl arrived. It's certainly a case of girl power by name and nature for us."
