BURY'S battle of the bands -- Powersound -- returns to the town again bringing with it hundreds of pounds in prizes.
This year the competition, which is a joint venture organised by the council run Bury Venues and Bury Youth Service, will offer £600 worth of musical equipment as prizes for the winners. Sponsors include Shout Entertainment Agency, Britvic, Doctor Rock Ltd and Linton Management.
Heats of Powersound 2002 will be held at Radcliffe Civic Suite on August 14, 21 and 28 with the grand final taking place on September 21. The competition is open to the 14-25 age group and we welcome everyone from pop and rock, to solo artists and vocal dance groups.
