A DRIVER could hardly believe his eyes when he saw a stag in a Bolton park.
Ivan Millington, from Farnworth, was taking a short cut through Moss Bank Park when he saw the roe buck beneath the trees yesterday morning.
He tried to take its picture but it skipped away towards the Johnson Fold estate. A spokesman for Bolton-based Lancashire Wildlife Trust said: "Deer are often seen on the edge of town, but this is the first to be seen this year."
"It was a beautiful creature," he said. "It gave me quite a surprise. I thought I was seeing things at first, but then my wife Wendy saw it as well."
