TEENAGE songwriter Danny Jones is looking forward to playing to his biggest audience yet -- a packed stadium at Bolton Wanderers.

The 16-year-old from Bromley Cross has released a single called Silence of the City -- lyrics by his mum Kathy -- about the September 11 terror attack on New York, to raise money for the survivors' fund.

It has proven such a success that Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce has donated cash and the record will be played at half-time when the team play Arsenal next Monday.

Danny was a member of teen band Y2K -- which also included sister Vicky -- and made several TV appearances but the band has now folded.

Wanderers' season ticket-holder Danny is now working on solo projects and to have his song played at the ground is a dream come true.

"I don't know what I'll do, probably just cover my head in my hands because it will be such a strange experience," he said.

"The lyrics mum wrote were really good. I'm pleased if people like it and if it raises money for charity." Kathy wrote the lyrics while watching the horrific events of September 11 unfold on television and she was later startled to discover an ironic coincidence.

"I've only been writing for about a year but when I looked in my pad I realised it was the 11th song I had written," she said.

"I'm really proud of Danny and I hope this helps raise more money for the fund."

More than 300 copies of the single have already been snapped up and Rapid Taxis has donated £100. For every £4 copy sold, £1 will go to the Robin Hood Foundation in New York. For details phone 593462.
