Lincoln Utd 1 Radcliffe Boro 1

RADCLIFFE Boro are building up nicely to an end of season play off nailbiter.

Having thrown away a golden opportunity of an automatic Premier Division promotion place by dropping too many silly points the Stainton Park lads are beginning to show good form at the right time.

Having gone behind on 42 minutes the chance to be level at the break was wasted by Jody Banim's weakly struck penalty after he had been brought down.

Boro manager Kevin Glendon injected fresh ideas with his three subs early in the second period and it paid off as one of them, Richard Landen, fired home the equaliser on 65 minutes.

Colls finished off

Atherton Colls 2

Prescot Cables 4

SUPERIOR finishing saw plucky Colls narrowly beaten in Friday night's Worthington Challenge Trophy Final played at Bury FC's Gigg Lane.

The Alder House lads matched the second in the Division One outfit and took the lead on ten minutes when Paul Vandenberg beat two players on the halfway line to set Martin Sloan free to round the keeper and slot home.

Top notch finishing put Cables 3-1 up by the interval and five minutes after the resumption they got a fourth. Still Colls pressed but Leon Smith's breakthrough on 82 minutes was just too late to make an impression.

The Atherton man of the match award went to midfielder Stuart Shepherd.

LR collapse

Atherton LR 0

St Helens Town 3

LR held Saints in a goalless first half but fell apart after the interval.

The visitors took the lead through Mark Wild on 56 minutes and got a second on 74 despite strong claims that the ball had been handled before being put in the net by Lee Dunne.

Tony Smith twice went close for LR and Paul Coverley brought a brilliant save out of the keeper before Wild got his second in injury time.

Daisy Hill 1

Blackpool Mechs 2

A LACKLUSTRE second half saw Daisy throw away a lot of good work put in before the break.

Dave Whitter headed home Jimmy Dixon's corner on ten minutes and Joe Paladino's side went on to dominate the rest of the half.

The Seasiders hit back on 52 minutes following bad marking from Daisy and got the winner five minutes from the end.
