A MAN has denied killing teenage prostitute Carly Bateman.
Geoffrey Porter, aged 40, of Columbia Road, Bolton, will stand trial accused of the murder of the 17-year-old on November 13.
A plea and direction hearing was held at Manchester Crown Court in Minshull Street yesterday.
The teenager's naked body was discovered in an alleyway off Crawford Avenue, the Haulgh, on November 11 last year.
A post morterm examination found she had been strangled. She had been working as a prostitute in the town to fund her drug habit.
Porter was remanded in custody until the trial which is expected to last between three and four weeks.
He was not in court for the hearing.
