ELVIS fans are being given a star-studded excuse to rock'n'roll -- and help rescue a Bolton charity event.
It may be the 25th anniversary of Elvis's death, but Bolton's impersonators have been reluctant to dust down their blue suede shoes for a fund-raising party.
Staff at Bolton-based Guide Dogs for the Blind came up with the idea to raise cash to sponsor puppies.
They had urged pubs and clubs to hold talent contests to find the perfect man or woman "Elvis" with the winners going to a grand final.
But so far, only a handful of people have come forward.
Guide dogs fund-raiser Rod Arthern is worried that the event, which has already been put back to July 19, might be in jeopardy.
He said: "We've only got five Elvises at the moment and we need more pubs and clubs to get involved for more contestants."
Anyone who can help is asked to call 492 534.
