YOUR views about pollution on Bolton's major roads are requested this month.
Computer software has shown that the A666 corridor from Kearsley and Farnworth into Bolton town centre and up to Astley Bridge is not likely to meet targets for improving air quality.
The same applies to other main routes into the town centre.
So Bolton has declared an Air Quality Management Area and is looking for your help in tackling the problem.
A questionnaire is available through the Manchester Area Pollution Area Advisory Council website at http://www.mapac.org or by contacting Environmental Services on 01204 336500.
It has also featured in this month's edition of Transport Matters, a newspaper distributed through local supermarkets and Council buildings.
The declaration follows a review assessing Bolton's air quality against national targets for seven air pollutants including nitrogen dioxide and particulate matter. Authorities across Greater Manchester have been working together on the review.
The authorities are currently producing a joint Air Quality Action Plan for Greater Manchester that will set out how the authorities will work towards achieving national air quality targets.
