A 13-year-old girl was today appearing in court charged with smuggling almost £1 million of heroin through an airport.
The teenager, who has not been named, was arrested at Manchester Airport on Monday after stepping off a flight from Islamabad in Pakistan.
Customs officers recovered 13 kilos of heroin with a street value of £910,000.
The youngster, who was bailed into the care of social services in Bradford, West Yorkshire, was appearing at Manchester Youth Court charged with illegally importing a controlled drug.
