Bolton 0 Burnage 23: BOLTON crashed against the team immediately above them in the league, going down 23 - 0.

In front of a good sized crowd swelled by the ranks of the second and third teamers who were left without a game this weekend, Bolton failed to match their visitors in most departments.

Burnage used their experience to boss the game and scored points at crucial times in the game. Bolton playing with a strong wind in the second half took the wrong options, failing to pin Burnage back.

Bolton's desire to run the ball, constantly backfired as they either lost possession or were penalised allowing the visitors to regroup. The loss puts Bolton needing to win one of their remaining three league games to be sure of protecting their status in the division.

HBolton's veterans returned to good form with a fine win against Broughton Park. In a close first half Bolton took the lead when Gregor McMillan broke from deep in his own half.

The winger had too much pace and strength for the cover defence as he scored under the posts to give Taff Wallbank an easy kick on his return.

Park responded with a penalty just before the break to give a half time score of 7 - 3 in Bolton's favour.

Bill Porter, on the other wing, grabbed the second after good play by Lee Mann. Broughton then had their best spell of the game and set up a tense finish as they scored a well worked try to make the score 12 - 8.

Bolton upped their work rate and broke from deep in their own twenty two after stealing the ball in the scrum, Peter Hackin finishing the move with Wallbank once again converting. Hackin scored again after Broughtons heads had gone down to give Bolton a 26-8 victory.
