WHEN it comes to creating a record-breaking event, Lofty the Lion knows you can rely on your friends.
The Wanderers' mascot got together with a handful of mainly furry pals to encourage fellow mascots from all over the country to come to the Reebok Stadium on June 9.
Here, an attempt on the world record for mascots at one venue will be attempted for the Guinness Book of Records as part of a bumper fun day called 'Mascot Mania'.
The event will not only provide fun and sports for hundreds of local youngsters, and the spectacle of a mascots' match, but will also raise funds for the Mayor of Bolton's Charity. Cllr Kevan Helsby is supporting Bolton Hospice and the Christie Hospital in Manchester. In the meantime, Lofty and his pals -- from left, Lightning Jack from Manchester Storm, Barney Bear from The Market Place, Tommy Tower from Tower FM, Christie's Bear and Sooty -- want to hear from other mascots who would like to come to the event and receive a proper Bolton welcome.
