I WAS disappointed to read the letter from Andrew Morgan, Vice Chair of Bolton Association of Residential Care homes, "Constant Sniping at Private Sector" (Bolton Evening News on April 1).
In Bolton the Local Authority has worked hard to build a positive relationship with private residential care homeowners. We have jointly negotiated fee levels with increases that were well above the level of inflation.
In his letter Mr Morgan wonders when politicians last visited a private sector care home!
I can assure him that, as well as regular meetings with himself and his colleagues, I and many other local councillors have on many occasions visited the care homes here in Bolton.
Far from knocking the private sector, we in the Local Authority have been keen to secure high quality services through working in partnership with, among others, his organisation.
