I WAS horrified when I read the article on "bring back corporal punishment".
As a parent, I would never stand by and let anyone use violence on my children, which smacking and caning is.
Thankfully, society has changed its attitude towards using punishment on children, as this is not the answer.
I believe today's anti-social behaviour from teenagers is more than likely to have been caused from the anti-social behaviour their parents had to receive as children from adults, such as parents, teachers, family and neighbours.
If people really believe corporal punishment will resolve crime, then sadly they have as much to learn about people's feelings as criminals themselves do.
Today's children need love, support, stability, guidance and respect. Once children receive these they will gladly want and be able to offer it to society.
