BRASS Night at the Proms will provide a Golden Jubilee celebration at the Swing Suite in Horwich RMI Club on Sunday, June 2.

A spectacular party night is planned at the club on Chorley New Road, featuring Smithills School Senior Brass Band.

In tribute to the Queen's special anniversary, the club will be decked out in red, white and blue, and all audience members are invited to join in the celebratory mood, wearing those same colours.

A Scottish pipe major will greet audience members in the car park. Song sheets will be handed out and organisers promise a party atmosphere.

Tickets are £6.50 and £5.50 concessions. Money raised will go towards the Horwich Carnival funds.

Carnival funds will also be boosted by a Commonwealth Games special at the Swing Suite on July 26. The event held on the eve of the first cycling event for the Games in Rivington will feature the Temperance Seven group. Tickets are £7.50.

The Swing Suite's current season of Sunday afternoon concerts comes to a close this weekend with the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra. The event begins at 1pm, and tickets are £5 or £4 concessions.

Tickets for all events are from 468911.
