A PENSIONER died after developing a form of pneumonia, following an operation to repair a fractured thigh bone, an inquest heard.
Hilda White, aged 86, fell in the kitchen of her home in Thorn Court, Salford. She was taken to the casualty department of Hope Hospital by her grandchildren.
She had surgery to repair the injury but her health deteriorated following her operation and she died.
Following a post mortem examination, Dr Gordon Roger Armstrong, stated that Mrs White had suffered from pneumonia brought on by the fall, which had been an accident.
Assistant Deputy coroner Chris Welton, recorded a verdict of accidental death.
