KOSTAS Konstantinidis was cursing his luck today as he reflected on the red card that will keep him out of his second successive Premier League game.

The Greek international had to sit and watch Wanderers' weekend triumph over Ipswich after being dropped to the substitutes' bench following his sending off at Everton on Easter Monday.

And it is that dismissal, for a second bookable offence, that will keep him out of the home game against Spurs on Saturday week.

"I think the second yellow card was okay," said the defender with the hard-man reputation. "But the first yellow card would not have happened normally.

"I think the referee didn't see things so well. The number eight for them (Tomasz Radzinksi) pulled my shirt and then I took my body in front of him. I didn't think it would be a yellow card."

Konstantinidis, who joined Wanderers on loan from German club Hertha Berlin just before last month's transfer deadline, was booked on his debut in the 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on Easter Saturday and told Wanderers' website today: "I am very disappointed. It's not the best for me to have a red card in my second game but this is football. It has happened and I have to face it."

The former Panathinaikos star still has a year on his contract with the Bundesliga club but has ambitions to play in the Premiership and has been particularly impressed by the Reebok crowd.

"I like it very much," he said, "especially the first game. The atmosphere was fantastic. I played many Champions League games with Panathinaikos and Hertha Berlin but this atmopshere and the sound was magnificent. And the way you play in England is not far away from my way of playing."
