Wanderers star Youri Djorkaeff has been reunited with his missing shirt -- and the lucky man who caught it!

Djorkaeff was so delighted with his performance during Bolton's 2-1 victory over Charlton that after the final whistle had blown, he stripped off his shirt and hurled it into the crowd.

And lifelong fan Mike Montgomery was the lucky man who caught it.

Before Wanderers' crucial home match against Ipswich on Saturday, the Bolton Evening News arranged for 6ft 5in Mike to meet the French international.

The football star speaks very little English and did not ask Mike to return his prized possession, signing it for him instead.

Mike, who travelled from his home in Hereford for the occasion, said: "He would have had to have taken me on to get it back."

Accompnying him was his best friend, Craig Moore, from Padiham Close, Leigh, who missed out by inches on grabbing the shirt for himself.

But taking his wide-eyed four-year-old son Ben to meet his new footballing hero was consolation enough.

Mike now plans to have the famous number 13 shirt framed -- and he is already preparing for some tough negotiations with his wife, Claire, over the possibility of hanging it in their living room.
