A COUPLE had to be evacuated after smoke from a malicious fire next door spread to their house.
Intruders broke into an empty terrace on Norfolk Road in Atherton at 10.30pm last night and set fire to the living room. The room and its contents were badly damaged and the rest of the house was smoke damaged.
Smoke spread into the house nextdoor. No one was injured.
