A PETROL station worker was recovering today after having CS spray squirted in his eyes.

Two men burst into the Save garage in Manchester Road, Kearsley, at 9.55pm on Saturday and sprayed the attendant in the eyes before escaping with cash and cigarettes.

The value of the goods stolen is not yet known.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

The first man is described as black and wore a black sweater. The second man is white and wore a white sweater.

Both were aged between 20 and 25.

The garage assistant -- who has not been named -- was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital but released later after treatment.
