POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorist reversed into a Bolton Council van.
Officers want to speak to the driver of a white-coloured Vauxhall Cavalier after the incident in Chulsey Street, near Deane Road.
The car was left badly damaged and needed a new tail bumper.
Police say an argument developed between the highways engineer and the motorist and the car was then driven at speed into the van.
Sgt Barry Fairclough, of Bolton Police Traffic Unit, said: "Anyone who is aware of a damaged Cavalier or of a recently repaired one should contact police." The Cavalier's partial registration number is J664.
The incident happened at 10.15am last Tuesday.
