THERE are some fascinating new toys available this month, including a revival of that little girls' favourite from the Eighties, My Little Pony.

BANDAI has launched a range of super fun dolls called Bratz which are sure to delight any young doll enthusiast (£14.99). They are fashionable --think hipster trousers and crop tops -- and a bit strange to look at with their large heads. But according to a knowledgable eight-year-old, who is a self-confessed doll expert, "they are the best". What better accolade could you wish for?

There are four to choose from and they are all ultra-fashionable, with funky clothes, shoes and accessories. Bratz dolls look set to be a real rival to Barbie and Sindy.

Also in the Bandai range, this time more for boys, are Cyclonians Egg Bots. They sound strange, look strange, but have a powerful fascination for youngsters who love battling with these robot-style toys.

There are six robot warriors to choose from and they are surely destined to become the next big craze. Remember Pokemon? The rules of the game may be difficult for adults to fathom but children do not seem to have a problem. They retail around the £6 mark. Both the dolls and the Egg Bots are available from Toys 'R' Us, Argos and Woolworths. Further details of stockists from 01489 790944.

RUSS has launched a cuddly range of soft toys and accessories which would be suitable for Easter gifts. These lovely cuddly toys make perfect presents for adults and children alike. Youngsters will delight in the "huggable" velour dolls, Hopper, Tubby and Tippy (£12.99). Bunny Ears on a headband (£4.99) is perfect for a little girl and pull-string chicks and bunnies (£5.99) will whizz along and cause quite a stir. My personal favourite, Rainbow, a multi-coloured floppy beanbag bunny, is available in three shades in sizes small (£7.49) or large (£14.99). For local stockists ring 02380 747670.

MY LITTLE PONIES have been relaunched and are available at Woolworths now. Some of us remember them from the first time round in the 1980s and they look destined to make a very welcome comeback. Loveable and Fairy ponies are delightful (£4.99 each) and look out for the Romantic Ponies (£9.99 for the set of two). They have red hearts which light up and one of them says "I Love You", terribly twee but utterly adorable.
