ON Tuesday Afternoon, March 26, my friend and I went to Astley Bridge Cemetery to put flowers on our husbands' graves.
As I was waiting for my friend at the car near to the vandalised church, I saw about five boys and girls lighting a fire at the bottom of the tree near the church.
I was very annoyed and had to go over to them, where I got a load of bad language from the ringleader. The girls weren't much better. I asked why they couldn't go to Moss Bank Park and they said it was too far to go.
The ringleader threatened me, so I pushed him. He said what he'd do to me. My friend arrived on the scene and chased him when he ran off.
Two of the other lads got some water and threw it over me, which didn't bother me. A man of 82 came up and said what he'd like to do to them, they just laughed. By the way, I'm 74 and my friend is 70.
If they had come any closer, despite what would have happened, we would have had a go at them.
Their ages ranged from 10 to about 14, and I won't forget their faces. I wish I knew where they lived or their school, they were disgusting.
They tried to scratch the car, but were a bit too slow.
