A DESPERATELY poor display on a shocking pitch saw Chorley suffer their first defeat under new manager Mark Molyneaux.
The Magpies could make little impression on an uncompromising home defence as Farsley claimed the three points to ease their UniBond First Division relegation worries.
Chorley's task was made even harder by the harsh dismissal of Danny Kent after 20 minutes' play.
The midfielder, having been ridiculously booked for alleged time-wasting after just 13 minutes, was then shown the red card for an unflattering remark to a linesman.
The Magpies' ten men were undone when Farsley broke quickly and, from an excellent ball from Michael Midwood, Celtic's leading marksman Chris Newton fired in the opening goal in the 31st minute.
With their own top scorer Andy Mason well shackled, Chorley lacked a cutting edge and Farsley keeper Liam Sutcliffe was virtually untroubled.
Midway through the second half Celtic sealed victory courtesy of a real howler by Chorley keeper Simon Marsh.
Stranded outside his area, Marsh mis-hit an intended pass to Jamie Bates, leaving Newton the simple task of rolling the ball into an unguarded net for his second goal of the game.
The Magpies' best chance of the afternoon came in the last minute when substitutes Paul Fleming and David Eatock combined superbly only for Eatock to drag his final shot wide of the target.
