STIG Tofting is taking no chances with his fitness as he keeps his sights on the twin targets of Premiership survival and this summer's World Cup.

Wanderers' Denmark midfielder has earmarked the Spurs game on April 20 for his comeback game. But he will not be rushed.

Tofting has not kicked a ball since suffering a foot injury in the ill-fated Derby game on March 16. He was forced to pull out of Denmark's last match against Republic of Ireland and will be missing again when the Danes meet Isreal on April 17.

He is confident he will be fit to play a part in Wanderers' survival mission and expects to be clear of injury to take his place in Morten Olsen's squad for Korea and Japan.

But, keen as he he is to get back in action, he is not in the risk business.

"At best I'll be ready to train seriously for the first time in the same week as the Danish match," he explained, "and from there it's quite a way until I reach international standard.

"My aim is to be fit for Bolton's match against Tottenham but it's possible that there could be further complications with an injury like this, so it could be even longer.

"I'm really making sure that I don't go too fast with my rehabilitation, because if I make a comeback too early I could be back to square one.

"Then I'd be in danger of not making the World Cup."
