BURY go in search for a impressive double tonight when they make the trip to Cardiff City's Ninian Park writes PHIL THORP.

The Shakers slammed the Bluebirds 3-0 in early November in what was probably their best performance of the season.

With that in mind Andy Preece will be keen his side doesn't suffer a backlash in South Wales.

"It's a game we'll look forward to, we know we can beat them but I'm sure they'll be fired up for us." said Preece.

"Other teams have done us favours against the bottom of the table teams in recent weeks so it's about time we capitalised on that.

"We go down there in a positive frame of mind and we must continue to play with belief like we did when we were down to ten men on Saturday."

Although Preece welcomes back himself and full back Jamie Stuart after suspension it's a case of swings and roundabouts with Lee Unsworth (virus), David Borley (groin) and Gareth Seddon (hamstring) all doubts and Paul Reid, Nicky Hill and Danny Swailes definitely still out.

The Bluebirds, who parted company with manager Alan Cork after their 4-0 hammering at the hands of Wigan Athletic on Saturday, will have caretaker boss Lennie Lawrence at the helm.

They will be missing influential midfielder and record signing Graham Kavanagh through suspension and have injury doubts about Mark Bonner but are boosted by the addition of Leo Fortune-West after a ban.

"Players usually put in an extra five or ten per cent for a new manager so we'll be up against that as well," added Preece.

"They are also in line for the play-offs so it'll be a tough one in a real hostile atmosphere, but that won't trouble us."

Kick-off at Ninian Park is 7.45pm.
