RUGBY teams across Bolton and Leigh are being urged to tackle leukaemia head on -- by raising vital funds for the Anthony Bone Marrow Trust.

The charity is asking rugby clubs to take part in a contest of sporting skills -- with winning teams invited to Murrayfield on February 2 to mingle with the stars at the Scotland vs England Calcutta Game cup.

The contest, entitled Passing A Half Hour To Save A Life, will ask for rugby players to form teams of 15 to raise funds for the trust.

Each player will be individually sponsored for the number of passes the team makes, with the winner being the team with the most passes.

Rugby fans who want to take part are asked to contact the trust -- which offers a register of bone marrow donors to give leukaemia sufferers the gift of life -- on 01423 879510.
