RESIDENTS of Dorset Street area are to receive "Residents Only" permits. Good for them. (According to a recent BEN report).
If the council agrees to this they will open a can of worms.
Commuters will spread into other parts of The Haulgh -- as they are doing on Chorley New Road and other areas.
These residents, in turn, will want resident only parking -- a refusal could be prejudicial under the Human Rights Act. The logical extrapolation of this is that, eventually, motorists will only be allowed to park outside their own property. I suppose the residents of Dorset Street are quite happy to park outside my house
