A PREGNANT single mother-of-six claims she is being forced out of her home by callous young arsonists.

Carol Foster, 31, of Great Meadow, Astley Village, has been firebombed twice in two weeks.

The last attack happened when she was out and a 14-year-old neighbour was babysitting her children aged between six months and 11-years-old.

Now her landlord is refusing to renew her tenancy and she does not know where to turn to.

Mrs Foster said: "I don't know where I am going to go. No one can help. I have to be out by April 12 and my baby is due on April 13."

Neighbour Christine Frost, whose daughter was baby-sitting at the time of the second arson attack and had to be treated at hospital for smoke inhalation, said: "On Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday my neighbour Carol Foster lives in fear of her life.

"It's outrageous, has someone got to die before something is done?"

Sgt Mick Dagger, of Chorley CID, said the police were addressing the problem.

He said: "We are aware of the problems with juveniles in Astley Village. It is a targeted area for uniformed officers.

"Special constables patrol the area on a weekend, but it is just not possible for an officer to be there all the time.

"The problem is 16-18 year-olds who drink alcohol and then cause problems."

He said there was a possibility drugs were also involved.

But Mrs Foster was inconsolable. She said: "I cannot keep going through this. It is not fair on my children."

And Sgt Dagger acknowledged that Mrs Foster felt she would have to move before her family would be safe again. He said: "Mrs Foster is the victim but she wishes to move from the locality and that is one solution to the problem."

Two fire engines from Chorley attended the blaze on the evening of February 5 after previously attending the same address on January 24.

The outhouse was completely destroyed by the fire leaving the yard covered in ash and debris. A metal drain pipe had melted in the heat.

Sgt Dagger said there was no evidence to show who was responsible for the attacks.

The owner of Carol's house said she had received several complaints about the tenant, and added: "I have to look after my property."
