BRITISH Airways staff at Manchester Airport are bracing themselves for more widescale job losses after the firm announced a strategic review.

The airline has announced it is cutting 5,800 jobs in a move to slash costs and tackle debts.

A third of the job cuts will go at its Heathrow headquarters and 10 long and short haul routes will be withdrawn.

It is not yet known whether Manchester Airport, which operates 565 BA flights every week, will be affected.
