CHRIS Tonge had a great day for Rivington scoring four goals in a 5-2 away Premier Division win over Bury GSOB.

A hat-trick in the first 20 minutes and a goal from Richard Collier left the home side facing a mountainous task.

Tonge curled in a free kick for the first after Tony Mercer was fouled and headed home Gary Holden's cross for the second. Collier got his 18th of the season before Tonge made it 4-0 on 20 minutes.

Brave Bury did not give up and hit back just before the interval, although Ian Rigg's cross which took the wind and floated in was more than a shade fortuitous.

The home side reduced the arrears further on the hour mark when Spencer Woods converted a penalty. Rivs weathered the inevitable pressure before Tonge chased through the middle on 65 minutes and rounded the keeper to kill the game off with his fourth goal.

The heavy surface and swirling wind made life difficult for Old Boltonians but Peter Cooper's men were eventually able to celebrate a 2-1 win over a good young Rossendale Amateurs side.

The stalemate was broken just after the interval when the visitors took the lead with a long range effort. Centre half Darren Martlew showed improvisation a striker would have been proud of when he back-heeled in an equaliser from a corner.

Bolts' substitutes Jules Ellis and Richard McKellan injected new life into the home side with the latter getting the winner when he headed home Dave Haslam's corner. Midfielder Mark Grundy was Cooper's man of the match choice.

Radcliffe Amateurs 2nds lost 3-2 at home to Lymm, despite the gift of an own goal and a Mark Chidoba strike with midfielder Matt Dunne named as man of the match.
