FIRSTLY I'd like to say well done to Sam and the team for their magnificent efforts this season.

With the size and strength of the squad it was never going to be easy once injuries and suspension took a hold.

Unfortunately too many of the fringe players are not good enough for the Premiership.

In particular I refer to the midfield area, where without Warhurst and Frandsen we seem to lose discipline, shape and creativity.

Whilst I agree that fans getting on Farrelly's back will not help him or the team, it does not alter the fact that as our main playmaker he is out of his depth at this level.

We don't need another striker, but we do need someone who can provide the service for Ricketts and Bobic etc.

Secondly - the Myth of the Big Crowds. A full capacity stadium is good for club's coffers, but it doesn't have the impact on the team that we are led to believe. The extra 'fans' that do attend don't seem to add to the atmosphere as they are not as committed to the club as the ones who attend on a regular basis.

In my experience (e.g..Man Utd this year,Grimsby last) the team tend to underperform in front of these larger crowds and this does not attract the stayaways back.

It would be a travesty if we go down again this season as there are a number of teams we have either been equal to or outplayed, without getting a break.

Poor refereeing decisions and bad luck seem to be our undoing and the fact that we are still within a couple of wins of a good mid table position is testament in itself to the players and management.
