A BOLTON man has appeared in court for a second time accused of the murder of a teenage prostitute.
Geoffrey Porter, aged 40, of Columbia Road, was brought before Manchester Crown Court in Minshull Street on Friday.
He is charged with murdering 17-year-old Carly Bateman on November 11 last year.
The teenager's naked body was discovered in an alleyway off Crawford Avenue, the Haulgh. A post morterm found she had been strangled. She had been working as a prostitute in the town to fund her drug habit.
The case was adjourned until February 22 for a plea and directions hearing to be held. Porter was remanded in custody.
