Man of the Match

LES FERDINAND

HIS headed hat-trick in nine minutes was an object lesson in the centre-forward's art. He was helped by some poor defending but his performance was so devastating and decisive that Glenn Hoddle could afford to take him off at half time when the damage was done.

Magic Moment

WANDERERS fans were quick to recognise that the fourth official was none other than Mr Barry Knight - the first time they had seen the referee from Orpington in an official capacity since the ill-fated Play-off at Ipswich. And didn't they let him know it!

Moan of the Match

THE defending, particularly in the first half, that made life so easy for Spurs who looked capable of scoring at will. It was not Wanderers' strongest side and players were trying to adjust but there was no excuse for the standard of some of the play.
