LUIS Saha is heading back to his best - thanks to his lucky blonde haircut.

The Fulham striker scored his first goal since August 22 against Newcastle last Saturday. And he put his change in fortune down to his new bleached look.

Saha has struggled to take his devastating from in front of goal from the First Division to the Premiership. After his two superb strikes on the opening day at Old Trafford and a lucky one against Sunderland a few days later he has become increasingly frustrated.

Desperate for any omen or good luck charm to put him back on the goal trail, his eye was taken by a sign in a barber's shop window advertising a cut price blond look for £15.

So the French star, who topped the Nationwide League goal charts last season and earns a reported £12,000 a week, snubbed his usual expensive cut in a Kings Road salon for the Putney parlour and 48 hours later fired a 25-yard thunderbolt into the top corner of the Newcastle net.

Despite bearing the brunt of relentless dressing room humour, Saha is not about to abandon his outrageous new look now and is hoping it can work its magic once again at the Reebok tomorrow.

He said: "I thought it would look good and it has brought me luck as well.

"The other players have given me a lot of stick but I had the last laugh with my goal."
