THE latest round of the North West Cyclo Cross Championship was hosted by Horwich CC and once again held at Queen's Park.
Cal DiFalco has now moved into first position in the championship standings for the U-16's, and was in confident mood prior to the start. This confidence was converted into victory over close rival and second claim teammate Amy Hunt (Helly Hansen). Richard Sale came home in third to make it a Horwich CC one, two, three in the U-16's.
Six riders from the club signed on for the senior male event which attracted over 50 riders from all over the North West, including four former champions. Paul Lally won with 72 seconds lead. Andy Parry was first Horwich CC rider home in 10th place, Denis Keaskin next in 13th, Mark Leyland 14th, Dave Headon 15th Eric Taylor 40th and Ste James 42nd. Stephanie Dub finished the women's race in her customary first place to secure the women's championship with a fantastic 10 wins from 10 starts.
