IN Division One Lyndsay Turley, goal defence for Chequers, intercepted several balls to give her team a half time lead of two goals against Mavericks.

The second half saw Mavericks Jane Pender's strong attacking come into play assisting them in winning the match by four goals.

Mavericks had a close defeat against League leaders DB3, they were leading by one goal at half time. Mavericks opened the second half with a stream of goals by Chris Daniels and led for three quarters of the match. With only six players DB3 managed to hold the score within three goals until with only a few minutes left to play June Broxson arrived.

Excellent shooting by Kerry Anderton secured victory, final score 32-28. BPEA had a resounding victory against Originals who could only field six players, Players of the Match went to Katherine Whittle and Ylana Sheriff. Howcroft with only five players and tremendous play by Jane Shelmerdine still proved too strong for Higson Builders, beating them by six goals. Howcroft voted Karen Tudge Player of the Match for Higson Builders.

Ramada Jarvis were leading B.A.D. Girls in Division Two by two goals during the first half after on form Anna Forster scored some excellent goals. B.A.D. girls fought back with Centre Gaynor Pickering playing a controlled court game. Final score 24-24.

Angela Law defended well for C.B.'s against St. Bonifaces to assist them in securing victory by 13 goals. Francine Thorpe was Player of the Match for St. Bonifaces. Darcy Lever and Sharples had a low scoring match with the half time score 6-5 goals. The match continued in the same vein during the second half with the final score 14-11. Top players J. Elliot and K. Groose.

In Division 3 Daisy Hill Ladies with only six players were trailing by one goal at half time to Ridgeway Arms. Both Centres K. Bailey and L. Walker played very skilfully, the final score 29 goals to 27 goals to Daisy Hill Ladies. On form shooter Vicky Gee for Walkden B helped her team to secure victory against Andrea Whipp by a 19 goal difference. This young team have excellent potential. Chorley Raiders put up a good fight against Spread Eagle and although they lost by fourteen goals Alison Heywood - Goal Shooter played well. Donna Leonard - Goal Attack for Spread Eagle was voted Player of the Match.

J.K.'s lost to Russell & Russell in Division 4 after leading by two goals at half time. Both teams had a good competitive game with G. Myles and K. Lord voted Players of the Match. Final score 20 goals to 15 goals to Russell & Russell. Royal Mail were leading by two goals to Langford Roofing at half time, Langford raised their game in the second half to secure victory by two goals, both teams had an excellent game. Royal Bank's Lesley Grady - Wing Attack helped secure a half time lead of six goals against Redskins. Debra Smith - Centre for Redskins intercepted several balls in the second half which were converted to goals by Gill Redmond and Janice Caffrey. Final score 27 goals to 26 goals to Redskins.

Division 5 had several close games. Peers Steelers and Dabs Com had a low scoring game due to consistent defending by both Wing Defence players Becky Gannon and Jenny Taylor. Peers Steelers won by 13goals to 9goals. Wingates' Lisa Bradshaw defended well against Darcy Seven to give them a half time lead of three goals. Darcy Seven matched Wingates goals in the second half but could not make up the deficit. M. Eckersley - Wing Attack was nominated Player of the Match by Wingates. Good Sportmanship was noted on the match card for Crompton All Stars and Tom Bridge. Crompton All Stars trailed by five goals at half time but managed to equal Tom Bridges score in the second half. Final score 20 goals to 15 goals to Tom Bridge. Sue Coleman - Centre for Tom Bridge and J. Canham - Goal Attack for Crompton All Stars were Players of the Match.
