AFTER reading the article and seeing the picture of the utter chaos at Bolton General Hospital in the BEN (Sept 26), I wonder if Bolton and Wigan Health Authority can still justify the closure of Bolton Royal Infirmary.

Surely now they must realise that the building of another hospital is essential.

One hospital cannot cope with the population of Bolton AND the surrounding districts. Before a few fatalities occur, something should be done now.

I was in hospital last winter and spent eight hours on a trolley and when you're really ill it seems a lot longer. The doctors and nurses were superb and were doing their best, but the stress and fatigue they were under must have been unbearable.

So, instead of condemning the hospital, give them some help and build another.

Surely now it's time the Bolton and Wigan Health Authority admitted their decision was a mistake.

As the saying goes -- "It's a brave man or woman who can hold up their head and admit they were wrong."
