ROYAL Lytham is hosting the event after only a five year break because Royal St George's in Sandwich, turned it down.
The members down in Kent did not want the disruption that hosting The Open brings after staging the event in 1985 and 1993.
The grandstands at Royal Lytham have been erected for several weeks and members are unable to use the course for a month before the event.
An agreement is made for them to play at other local clubs.
