BSF ROUNDERS LEAGUE THE CHAMPION of champions was finally completed at Westhoughton CC.

Fourteen teams, who won their sections last year plus The Volunteer, competed for the trophy.

Group A consisted of three teams and Darcy Lever CC A won the group with three wins.

Group B was a close encounter, with the Volunteer and Bradbury Ladies playing in the deciding game with Bradbury going into the semi-final.

Group C was headed by CRS with maximum points.

In Group D Starlight XI won the group with three wins. In the semi final Darcy A, the A section champions last year, met Starlight XI who won O section. Starlight received 65 runs start but the handicap was correct with Darcy winning by just three runs 86-83.

CRS qualified for the final when they beat Bradbury 74-55. CRS received 55 runs start in the final and, again, the handicap was spot on with CRS winning by a single run 96-95.

Gaskell A, D section, led Markland CTC 130-80 at half time. Markland got the better in the second innings but Gaskell took the points with a 218-197 victory.

Darcy Lever CC C, who top the table in this section, lost 143-138 to Heaton Ladies A.

Adlington CC F share second spot with a 147-127 victory over Bay Mare Ladies. Redgate Ladies also share second spot when they beat Knights XI 209-163.

The Bolton Junior Inter-League team play Bury on Friday July 20 at Woodbank CC, off Brandlesholme Road, Bury at 7pm.

Royal Hotel qualified for the final of the Blackburn Shield when they beat MSJ A 111-80. They will meet Esporta Ladies A, who beat Crompton XI 170-167 in a very close semi-final.

Royal Bolton Hospital A found Advance Computer Systems on top form. They scored 226 (1) with Kirsty Taylor 52 runs, Sarah Rutter 30, Claire Atkins 20, Jackie Wright 23, Jean Philburn 46, Mandy Cooke 12 and Georgina Kinsella 10 runs. Advance finished winners by 226 (1)-107 .

The Royal Bolton Hospital B team.however. beat top of the table Esporta Ladies B by an innings 169-79.

Vause XI won their second game of the season with a 185-101 win over North West Energy. Top of the table Walkden CC A visited lowly Hough Fold Ladies and found themselves trailing 73-37 after the first half. Although Hough Fold were dismissed for 24 runs in their second innings, Walkden could only better that score by one run, Hough Fold winning 97-62. J section leaders Westhoughton Central XI lost at Farmers XI 102-96.
