THE Hospital recently caused public outrage after announcing that they were to spend £25,000 on smoking shelters at the Minerva Road site.
The shelters remain unused with smokers still opting to stand outside.
Hospital bosses defended their actions by saying that they wanted to protect staff and patients from the harmful effects of smoke which they could inhale walking past smokers at the entrances.
