I RECENTLY visited Kearsley and during my time there was driven to Radcliffe and Farnworth. These were trips down Memory Lane as I am Farnworth born and bred.
What a disappointment! I was dismayed by the widespread litter. Every location appeared derelict and neglected -- rubbish, cans, general litter pervaded every scene.
In contrast, we moved to Devon almost five years ago. We live on the seafront and daily there are vehicles and man-managed carts to clean up ALL litter. The area is immaculate despite of seagull invasions.
Why cannot Farnworth, Kearsley and surrounding areas be like this?
They appear to be forgotten towns, totally neglected areas. Pull your socks up, and make these areas places to be proud of. They deserve it.
