I READ with interest the letter from B. Myers concerning the Westhoughton by-pass and Ruth Kelly.
Two facts should be remembered.
1. The election is over and Ms Kelly thinks she can forget about her constituents for another five years and concentrate on her friends in Westminster, like the MP for Wigan who wants the by-pass built through Westhoughton's green fields. Of course, it is for the good of the poor Wiganers and stuff the needs of Cowyeds, hey? Nothing to do with the lobbying of Hulton Estates, has it?
2. Ms Kelly should remember that her constituents have long memories, and I for one will not forget the election leaflet that came through my front door stating she would fight for the causes that save the green fields around Westhoughton.
Ms Kelly, your prime motivation should be to the people of the constituency you represent, NOT the allegiances you can make in Tony's Labour party politics, big business and self-interest.
