A North-west Euro MP has helped stop the threat of a European Tax being imposed.
Den Dover, United Kingdom Conservative Spokesman on Budgets, tabled key amendments to prevent the new measure being brought in.
He said: "It would have upset everyone and reduced any support they had for the European Union."
