PLANS to build 150 houses on a former tip site have been turned down.
It was decided at a meeting of Westhoughton Town Council that the planned development to the south of Cherwell Road was too close to a wildlife corridor and would swallow up one of only a few open spaces in the town.
The application was made by Chorley-based Northern Trust Company Ltd.
