SUPERB centuries from Westhoughton's Mark Atherton and Heaton's Gareth Carson earned the Bolton League's under 18s side a place in the junior inter-league final against the Central Lancs League.
The openers put on a magnificent 244 as the League romped to 264-2 in 37 overs of blistering run scoring. Atherton set the pace and went on to hit 143 with seven sixes and 18 fours while Carson was undefeated on 104, hitting 12 fours.
The shell-shocked Association did their best to respond and openers Jim Cutt and Darren Hornby got them off to a decent start. In the end, however, the League used eight bowlers to good effect and the Association were finally dismissed for 135, Tonge's Adam Rodzoch taking 3-19.
