Young people in Leigh will get the chance to take part in a wide range of free activities this summer.

The Summer Splash 2001 is a project organised by Wigan Youth Service for anyone aged 11 to18. The programme will run during the rest of this month and August.

There will also be an information bus so that older young people can receive advice and information.

A fun day and barbecue every Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School in Heath Lane offering activities like face painting and balloon modelling will also be included.

Young people can meet one of the youth workers who are in the area every Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout the summer. Alternatively, fill in and return a form to the Youth Service from Kath Evans on 01942 205788

All young people who attend a session will be awarded a place on a trip to Camelot Theme Park at only £2 per person.

So if you're bored during the summer, make your way to the Leigh Summer Splash and try out the exciting activities on offer.
