COMMUNITY groups will have plenty to shout about at the weekend when they get together to share their success.

And organisers of the Breightmet event have sent out an open invitation to everyone who wants to come along and find out more.

The annual Rughill Fair will take place at the Waggon Road Community Centre and playing fields between noon and 4pm on Saturday.

Organisers from Breightmet Arts say the event will be a showcase for all the positive community action taking place in the area.

The fair will also give residents and groups the chance to find out more about the Single Regeneration Budget for East Bolton (SRB 6) which has seen more than £20m ploughed into the area.

Visitors to the fair will be able to have their say on how they would like to see the money invested by joining a Local Community Panel.

Les Elvin of Breightmet Arts said: "If you are representing one of the many voluntary organisations operating in Breightmet you have the chance to meet and network with similar groups, share information and recruit new members.

"The afternoon will be a highly entertaining one, with live music and performances on the community stage, lantern making workshops, circus skills workshops, art displays and lots more."
