SPORTS minister Richard Caborn is expected to join guests at the official opening of Bolton Arena on Saturday.
The minister's appearance will underline the national importance of the £15 million facility at Middlebrook, credited with improvements in the performance of some of England's Wimbledon hopefuls this year.
Former Olympic javelin champion Tessa Sanderson will also attend.
She is vice chairman of Sport England, which met £11 million of the Arena's cost.
