BROWN, Shipley & Co Ltd, a private bank, has acquired Fairmount Group Plc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Legal & General.
The independent financial adviser, which specialises in pension advisory services, has changed hands in a £35 million deal.
Fairmount employs 210 people operating from offices in Princess Street, Bolton, Leeds, Leatherhead, Sleaford and Central London.
Nationwide
It provides small, self-adminstered pension schemes and self-invested personal pensions to clients nationwide.
It also offers pensions administration, financial planning and investment management services.
Brown Shipley has its head office in London and has regional offices in Harrogate, Hartlepool, Hull, Jersey, Leeds, Manchester and Northallerton.
Managing Director Patrick Moorsom said: "The business is an excellent fit with the broad range of investment management and private banking services we already offer our private clients."
