CHORLEY East Youth Centre has been awarded a £5,000 grant.
It was short-listed from more than 3,000 entries to B&Q's community award scheme -- the B&Q 'You Can Do It' Awards 2001.
Chorley East Youth Centre encourages integration between Asian and white youths.
They are especially keen footballers and have a pitch which is in need or urgent improvements.
With the grant the centre will install seating for spectators and repaint a graffitied areas with creative artwork.
Irfan Esa, leader of Chorley East Youth Centre, said: "I just can't believe we've been awarded this grant -- it's fantastic news.
"We try very hard to provide a vital resource to the community and our funds are always limited.
"We applied for this grant hoping we had a good chance but we are absolutely thrilled to have won.
"I think it's great that B&Q helps the community this way."
